A Shameless Plug for a Dear Friend

Okay. Y'all know I don't make a habit of advertising really anything on this blog. Yeah, there's the "Google Ads" widget down below, and I think in about three years of active Google Ad placement I may have earned somewhere in the neighborhood of $0.15. Cause I don't push, I'm just not a hard sell. But when there's something that's close to my heart, whether it be a cause I believe in or schwag I want the seller to sell, well, that's different.

My dear sweet pal and roomie Amy, from way back in my Vandal days (that's *capital* V as in the collegiate mascot, not lowercase v as in the petty criminal), makes the coolest earrings and you can buy 'em online. These are just some examples:

Go check out her Etsy storefront, Amy's Pish Posh.

That is all.

Miscellany

Hm. Imagine that. Another non-themed post. Seems to be about all I can come up with these days...sparse though they are. So pretty much everything that was on the docket last week? Still on the docket this week. I'm not likely to fix all of it tonight, though, so I'll go read a book in a few minutes.

Seems Patrick Swayze died today; what a shame, there was a time there circa Dirty Dancing that I truly dug the man...oh, how did I want to be Baby Houseman. I've said it before, though, pancreatic cancer is truly an ugly disease and tends to move pretty fast, in my experience. Both a blessing and a curse, I guess. Anyhoo, may he rest in peace.

We took the chilluns to the zoo the other night, and found them to be completely delightful there (until it was time to go home!). To wit:

They're a good looking bunch anyway.

Kyle and Maddie both had soccer games Saturday, got some good pics of each, but they're not downloaded from the camera yet. They both did very well. Maddie's got an amazing foot, got to play goalie for a bit and did a great job. Kyle's a little machine on the field, scored 4 goals and generally kicked butt. And Steph had a game too, but in Denver, so as her mom was the only one present, I stand a snowball's chance in hell of ever seeing pictures, if they exist (I'm the world's best unacknowledged stepmom. Gar. Least I know the kids love me, and that's good enough for me.)

Okay, that's enough for tonight. The cool sheets and a good book beckon.
