Overheard

Half of a cell phone conversation, in a most serious tone, outside King Soopers a few minutes ago:

"I never see ninjas in the grocery store anymore."

Gosh, me neither.

...and I guess I'm doin' all right

It was a gorgeous day on the Front Range, and we spent it puttering around the house and working on the bar and hit a few yard sales and the flea market earlier... I got a really nice scroll saw for twenty bucks which made me very nearly giddy. The bald one's getting so excited about the bar he's about to pee himself.
Last night was a great night, unexpectedly didn't have to work so while Scott tore up the town with the boys, I sat and drank Little Black Dress

with my bestie Erin, and then coffee spiked with amaretto and topped with Whipahol (fixes it all!!) and giggled and talked and just relaxed - and that's not something I get to do very often, so it was a nice little treat.
Tomorrow, there's a poker run, and the weather's supposed to be full-on gorgeous - and later in the day Hayley and Kyle will be back from Hawaii, where they've been for the last week with their dad and stepmom and stepbrother.

So all in all, even though I owe way too much money to way too many entities, and even though I never have quite enough time to do everything I want to do... I really can't complain.
